Mrs. Karuna Shriram
Mrs. Karuna Shriram is an Educationist and a Social Worker.
Her commitment in the field of education and social welfare spans over two decades where she has given concrete shape directly to various education policies and welfare programmes. Mrs. Shriram has a Degree of Bachelor in Special Education (Mental Retardation), is a special educator and a member of the Rehabilitation Council of India.
She is a certified coach from The HANDLE Institute, Seattle, USA. The HANDLE Institute (THI) is a world-renowned authority on effective, noninvasive, drug free treatment of the root causes of neurodevelopmental disorders across the lifespan.
She has worked with various NGO's like Aarth-Aastha, Salaam Baalak Trust, DSWSC, Tamana and others in various capacities including as a member of the Board. She works intensively with differently abled children especially in semi-urban and rural areas. Her primary focus and passion has been on mainstreaming such children.
She is a member of the Japan Committee of Asian University for Women, Bangladesh. Asian University for Women is the first liberal arts university for women in South Asia and is one of only two international universities in Bangladesh. She is also a member of PHD family welfare foundation, co-chair of Women & Child Development, Rotary Club of Delhi Premiere, member of FICCI ladies organization, member of Asavari executive & advisory committee and a Paul Harris Fellow.
She is the Vice President of Bansuri Charitable Trust and Chairperson of the Managing Committee of Dr. Bansi Dhar School, Kota, Rajasthan.
